Kemper Combustion Turbine Plant

Kemper Combustion Turbine Plant is in Kemper County, Miss., just north of Highway 16 in De Kalb. The site consists of four simple cycle combustion turbines that can power more than 160,000 homes.

The state-of-the-art dual-fuel machines can be operated on either natural gas or low-sulfur diesel fuel.

TVA began construction of the site in the spring of 2001 and commenced commercial operation in the summer of 2002.
