Southaven Combined Cycle Plant
Southaven Combined Cycle Plant is located on approximately 36 acres in the town of Southaven, Miss., about 10 miles south of Memphis, Tenn. The site can power more than 469,000 homes.
There are three power blocks, each with a one-on-one combined cycle power block consisting of a combustion turbine, a heat recovery steam generator with selective catalytic reduction, and a condensing steam turbine and associated power block and balance of plant equipment. The combustion turbines fired exclusively on natural gas.
Southaven was commissioned on May 30, 2003, by Cogentrix Energy Power Management. TVA purchased Southaven in May 2008.
