250 Linear Feet of Shoreline Stabilization - Watts Bar Reservoir

Roane County, Tennessee

In April 2019, TVA completed an environmental assessment (EA) and issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the proposed placement of rock riprap along 250 feet of shoreline on Watts Bar Reservoir, Tennessee River Mile 548.2 in Roane County, TN.

TVA is responsible for the management of public shoreline on Watts Bar Reservoir and for the protection of shoreline and aquatic resources, while providing reasonable public access. The project is intended to minimize the destabilization and erosion of the shoreline and banks of the island and the resultant turbidity and sedimentation of reservoir waters. The project supports and is consistent with TVA’s mission of environmental stewardship, the objectives for water resource management in the 2011 TVA Natural Resources Plan (NRP).
