City of Chattanooga Emergency Stream Bank Protection Project

Hamilton County, Tennessee

On September 11 2014, TVA issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) and the adoption of an environmental assessment (EA) prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).  The USACE EA documented the potential environmental effects of an emergency stream bank stabilization project along an 1,100-foot portion of the right descending bank of the Tennessee River between approximate Tennessee River Mile 466.2 and 466.5, northeast of downtown Chattanooga.  The USACE is authorized to conduct such projects under Section 14 of the Flood Control Act of 1946.  The project is subject to TVA approval under Section 26a of the TVA Act.
