Marshall County, Kentucky
On December 15, 2014, TVA issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for approval under Section 26a of the TVA Act for the proposed reconstruction of an existing barge terminal at Tennessee River Mile 11 near Calvert City, Kentucky. The reconstructed barge terminal and proposed stream crossings associated with a railroad spur to the terminal are subject to TVA Section 26a approval and permits from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) under Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. USACE and TVA jointly prepared an environmental assessment to document the potential environmental effects of developing and operating the proposed terminal and associated rail spur.
