Haywood Solar Farm

Haywood County, Tennessee

On March 10, 2017, TVA issued a final environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact for its proposed purchase of power from the Haywood Solar, LLC  facility in Haywood County, Tennessee.  The 3.9-megawatt (direct current) solar generating facility is proposed to be constructed and operated by Haywood Solar, LLC and Silicon Ranch Corporation.

The Haywood Solar facility, scheduled for completion in 2018, would occupy about 27.6 acres near Brownsville, Tennessee and use photovoltaic panels mounted on multiple rows of single-axis tilt racks to generate electricity. The facility would connect to the Brownsville Energy Authority distribution network at the Dupree Substation, which would transmit the power to the TVA network.

The EA describes the anticipated environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the solar generating facility and associated electrical connection.
