Marshall Properties Solar Farm

On March 17, 2014, TVA issued a final environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for its proposed purchase of electricity from a 684-kilowatt solar farm near Blairsville, Georgia.  The solar farm would be constructed and operated by Marshall Properties LLC.  TVA’s power purchase would be through its Renewable Standard Offer program, where TVA purchases qualifying renewable energy at market rates.

The solar farm would occupy about 6.6 acres and generate electricity from about 2,300 ground-mounted photovoltaic panels.  The facility would be connected to the Blue Ridge Mountain Electric Membership Corporation electrical distribution system for transmittal of the power to the TVA system.  The EA describes the anticipated environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the solar farm.
