TVA Tract 22R Bank Stabilization Project

Boone Reservoir, Sullivan County, Tennessee

In March 2018, TVA completed an environmental assessment (EA) and issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the proposed placement of rock riprap along 1300 linear feet of shoreline at South Fork Holston River Mile 19.5 on Boone Ford Reservoir in Sullivan County, Tennessee.  This section of the river is located on TVA Tract 22R.  The project is intended to minimize the destabilization and erosion of the shoreline and banks of the island and the resultant turbidity and sedimentation of reservoir waters. The project supports and is consistent with TVA’s mission of environmental stewardship, the objectives for water resource management in the TVA Natural Resources Plan (NRP, 2011), and TVA’s management goals set forth in TVA’s Northeastern Tributary Reservoir Land Management Plan (RLMP, 2000).
