Economic Development Grant Proposal for the Northwest TN Regional Industrial Center
Obion County, TN
On May 16, 2025, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) completed an environmental assessment (EA) and issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for a proposed economic development grant through TVA InvestPrep funds to the City of Union City to assist with the development of a portion of the Northwest TN Regional Industrial Center (NTNRIC) in Obion County, Tennessee. The area of TVA’s Proposed Action (herein referred to as the Project Area) encompasses 70 acres, consisting mainly of agricultural land with some forested areas located adjacent to Highway 21, in Union City, Tennessee. TVA funds would be matched with non-TVA funds and used for tree clearing, burning of felled trees and stumps, geotechnical borings, grading for a 100,000-square-foot (SF) gravel building pad with associated parking/truck court areas, a temporary sediment pond and detention basin, construction of a new gravel driveway, and addition of gravel to the existing dirt road.
