Kingston Fossil Plant Borrow Site #3

Roane County, Tennessee

On January 28, 2020, The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) signed a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for a proposal to construct and operate a new 62-acre borrow site (Borrow #3) at its Kingston Fossil Plant (KIF), near Harriman, Tennessee. Ongoing projects such as the KIF landfill are anticipated to exhaust existing onsite borrow sites by the summer of 2020 and therefore additional sources of borrow material are needed for various projects at KIF. By developing a new borrow site on KIF property, TVA would be able to more cost effectively and efficiently support routine operations, as well as plan and construct upcoming construction projects. The final environmental assessment and FONSI can be accessed below.
