Moore County Solar Project

Moore County, Tennessee

On January 19, 2023, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) released a Record of Decision (ROD) to adopt the preferred alternative identified in its final environmental impact statement (EIS). TVA has decided to execute a power purchase agreement (PPA) with SR Tullahoma LLC (SR Tullahoma), a subsidiary of Silicon Ranch Corporation, to purchase 200 megawatts (MW) alternating current (AC) of power generated by a solar photovoltaic (PV) facility.

The facility, known as Moore County Solar, will be located on approximately 2,000 acres within an approximately 3,463-acre project site in Moore County, Tennessee. SR Tullahoma will construct, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission Moore County Solar. A substation and facilities to interconnect the solar PV facility to the TVA Franklin-Wartrace No. 2 161-kilovolt (kV) transmission line (TL), as well as upgrades on approximately 9.6 miles of this TL, will also be required to operate the solar facility.

TVA collected public scoping comments on the proposed project from May 3, 2021, through June 4, 2021, and public comments on the draft EIS from April 22, 2022, through June 6, 2022. TVA received approximately 30 comments. Public comments and TVA’s responses can be found in Appendix B of the Final EIS.
