Ripley II Solar Environmental Assessment

Lauderdale County, Tennessee

Updated November 25, 2024

On November 21, 2024, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) completed the final Environmental Assessment (EA) and issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) considering the potential purchase of electricity generated by the proposed Ripley II Solar Project in Lauderdale County, TN. The solar facility would be constructed and operated by SR Ripley II, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Silicon Ranch Corporation. Under the terms of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), TVA would purchase the electric output generated by the Ripley II solar facility for a term of 20 years, subject to satisfactory completion of all applicable environmental reviews. The project would occupy approximately 194 acres on a 490-acre tract of land currently zoned for High Density/Mobile Home and General Business; however, it is comprised mostly of agricultural fields.

The EA evaluated the anticipated environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the solar generating facility and associated electrical connections.

On July 15, TVA issued a draft EA for public review.  Public comments on the draft EA were accepted through August 14, 2024. TVA has carefully reviewed all the substantiative comments received during the draft EA public commenting period. Comments were summarized and included in Appendix E of the final EA.
