Proposed Section 26a Permit for a New Campground on Douglas Reservoir

TVA is considering a Section 26a application request from Jason and Trena Messer to construct a campground and community water use facility. The project involves installation of camper pads, a 22-slip floating covered community water use facility, utilities, previously approved structures, and a septic system. Section 26a permit approval of this facility will increase the recreational opportunities on Douglas Reservoir. The project is located on Douglas Reservoir at French Broad River Mile 54.3 Left (36.026892, -83.322853), in Jefferson County, Tennessee.

TVA is interested in receiving comments regarding the action’s potential to affect the environment or historic properties and to identify any other issues associated with this request prior to making a permit decision. Any comments received, including names and addresses, will become part of the administrative record and will be available for public inspection.
