Description:

Built after logging activity removed insect-infested pines, this trail winds though hardwood forests and beside a cedar thicket, meadow and farm pasture. This trail is on the Melton Hill Dam Reservation and has two trailheads. One is at the overlook and the other is off the main road below the dam; to return to your car you can go back over the trail or circle around by the road. Melton Hill Dam is about 30 miles west of Knoxville, Tenn., off I-40 (exit 364).
