WEST POINT, Miss. — The Tennessee Valley Authority is asking for public input on proposed transmission system improvements to continue to serve growing electrical load and increase power reliability in the Clay, Lowndes, and Oktibbeha County areas of Mississippi.

TVA proposes to build about 18 miles of single-circuit transmission line to connect the Clay 500-kV Substation in West Point and the Artesia 161-kV Substation in Columbus. The new line would be built using primarily single-pole structures centered on new 100-foot-wide right of way.
