Economic Development Mission Accelerates Jobs, Investments

Following a year of momentum in 2025, TVA continues its foundational economic development mission of improving lives inside the Valley region by attracting investments and high-quality jobs.

And affordable, reliable energy continues to help power this economic growth.

As more businesses choose to launch or expand within the seven-state service area, TVA is meeting rising power demand by investing in new generation. These investments help ensure the region has the energy foundation needed to support its expanding economy and attract world-class businesses.

From January to May this year, TVA and its community partners welcomed an array of businesses drawn to the region by its many advantages.

Laser Isotope Separation Technologies

This U.S. laser enrichment technology developer announced plans to expand operations in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Plans for the project include creating 203 new jobs and investing $1.38 billion. Economic development partners include the Oak Ridge Electric, U.S. Department of Energy, Roane County, city of Oak Ridge, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, and the East Tennessee Economic Development Agency.

Aluko Group

This South Korean aluminum manufacturer announced plans to establish operations in Halls, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 285 new jobs and investing nearly $108 million in the Lauderdale County manufacturing facility. Economic development partners include Ripley Power and Light Company, Lauderdale County Economic and Community Development, Lauderdale County, and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

Heil Trailer International

This global manufacturer of specialty transport trailers announced plans to expand operations in Athens, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 18 new jobs and investing $9.8 million following the securement of a U.S. Department of the Army contract for the company’s Tactical Fuel Distribution System.

Economic development partners include the Athens Utility Board, the McMinn Economic Development Authority, and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

Centrus

Centrus, the only uranium enrichment centrifuge manufacturing facility in the U.S., announced plans to expand operations in Oak Ridge. Plans for the project include creating 430 new jobs and investing more than $560 million to support large-scale restoration of uranium enrichment capability.

Economic development partners include Oak Ridge Electric, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, city of Oak Ridge, Anderson County and East Tennessee Economic Development Agency.

Spartan Composites

This advanced composite materials manufacturer announced plans to establish operations in Saltillo, Mississippi. Plans for the project include creating 45 new jobs and investing $49 million in the company’s Lee County location. Economic development partners include Mississippi Development Authority, Tombigbee Electric Power Association and the Community Development Foundation.

Envision Cold

This cold storage company announced plans to establish operations in Marshall County, Alabama. Plans for the project include creating 82 new jobs and investing nearly $67 million in the Boaz facility. Economic development partners include Marshall-Dekalb Electric Co-op, Marshall County Economic Development Council, Industrial Development Board of Boaz, city of Boaz, Marshall County and the Alabama Department of Commerce.

Recticel Group

Recticel, a global manufacturer of smart insulation, announced plans to establish its first U.S. panels facility in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 78 new jobs and investing $50 million in the company’s Maury County operations. Economic development partners include Mount Pleasant Power System, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Maury Alliance and Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Association.

Durable Products

This rubber products supplier announced plans to expand operations in Cumberland County, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 134 new jobs and investing $27 million in the company’s Crossville operations. Economic development partners include Volunteer Energy Cooperative, the Crossville-Cumberland Chamber of Commerce, and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

Documotion Research

This printing products manufacturer announced plans to expand operations in Maury County. Plans for the project include creating 48 new jobs and investing $9 million in the company’s Columbia facility. Economic development partners include Columbia Power and Water Systems, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Maury Alliance and Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Association.

Create Energy

This renewable energy company announced plans to expand operations in Robertson and Sumner counties in Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 973 jobs and investing $76 million in a new location announcement in Orlinda and creating 30 jobs and investing $2 million to expand its Portland location. Economic development partners include Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Robertson County Economic Development Board, city of Portland and city of Orlinda.

Morgan Steel

Morgan Steel announced plans to expand operations in Memphis, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 119 new jobs and investing $11 million in the company’s Shelby County headquarters facility. Economic development partners include Memphis Light, Gas and Water, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Greater Memphis Chamber and Economic Development Growth Engine.

Hadrian

A submarine components parts manufacturer, Hadrian, announced plans to establish operations in Colbert County, Alabama. Announced plans for the project include investing $2 billion and creating 1,000 new jobs at the company’s Sheffield operations. Economic development partners include Sheffield Utilities, Alabama Department of Commerce, Shoals Economic Development Authority, Colbert County and the city of Sheffield.

Stupp Bridge

Stupp Bridge, a leading bridge fabrication and steel structure manufacturer, announced plans to expand operations in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Plans for the project include creating 15 new jobs and investing $2.7 million in the company’s Warren County facility. Economic development partners include Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation, the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.
