Top Performers in Energy Efficiency

TVA EnergyRight recently recognized the outstanding efforts of local power companies (LPCs) and industrial customers whose leadership and engagement have helped advance energy efficiency across the Valley region. These annual TVA EnergyRight Top Performer Awards celebrate the organizations that have gone above and beyond in promoting and delivering TVA EnergyRight programs to residential, business and industrial customers, creating meaningful benefits for their communities.

Recipients were honored at two gatherings in Huntsville, Alabama: The Valley Partners Meeting on April 12–13 and the TVA Industrial Summit on April 22–23.

“These awards hold long-standing significance across the Valley,” said Ray Knotts, senior director of Demand Management. “Beyond celebrating performance, the program also provides participants with an opportunity to highlight their accomplishments and their commitment to energy stewardship.”

This year, TVA EnergyRight recognized the top three performing LPCs in seven award categories:

• First: Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division
• Second: Nashville Electric Service
• Third: Middle Tennessee Electric

Total Energy Savings (kWh) Per Energy Sale (MWh)

• First: Courtland Electric Department
• Second: Bolivar Energy Authority
• Third: McMinnville Electric System

Demand Response Capacity Growth (MW)

• First: Memphis Light, Gas & Water
• Second: Jackson Energy Authority
• Third: Lenoir City Utilities Board

Demand Response Capacity Growth (kW) Per Energy Sale (MWh)

• First: Jellico Utilities
• Second: Smithville Electric System
• Third: Tishomingo County Electric Power Association

Most Improved Energy Savings (GWh)

• First: Nashville Electric Service
• Second: Huntsville Utilities
• Third: Athens Utilities

Total Smart Thermostat Rewards Participants

• First: Nashville Electric Service
• Second: Middle Tennessee Electric
• Third: Huntsville Utilities

Total Smart Thermostat Rewards Participants Per Energy Sale (MWh)

• First: Blue Ridge Mountain EMC
• Second: Huntsville Utilities
• Third: Nashville Electric Service

TVA EnergyRight also recognized the top three performing industrial customers in two categories:

• Second: Westlake Chemical Corporation
• Third: CC Metals and Alloys

Total Energy Savings (kWh) Per MWh Used

• First: Constellium
• Second: Evonik Corporation
• Third: Westlake Chemical Corporation

Additionally, three organizations were recognized for successfully completing the two‑year Strategic Energy Management program:

• Constellium
• Nissan North America
• Metalsa Structural Products

Collectively, these participants are delivering over 2,000 megawatts to the system (equivalent to two nuclear units), which directly supports resiliency and increased reliability across the Valley region. These impacts also help create additional capacity, positioning TVA to support continued economic development and growth.

These celebrations reflect TVA’s continued commitment to partnering closely with local power companies and large energy users to deliver programs that benefit communities, drive energy savings and support regional economic strength.
