Proposed Easement on Chatuge Reservoir for Chatuge Woods Campground

TVA is considering a request from Towns County (GA) to grant a 30-year public recreation easement over approximately 35.30 acres on Chatuge Reservoir at Hiwassee River Mile 123.9 (left bank), in Towns County, Georgia.  The County’s existing easement is set to expire in February 2024 and this request will allow them to continue managing the Chatuge Woods Campground on Chatuge Reservoir.  TVA is seeking public comment prior to a final decision on the easement request.

TVA is interested in receiving comments regarding the action’s potential to affect the environment or historic properties, and to identify any other issues associated with this request.  Any comments received, including names and addresses, will become part of the administrative record and will be available for public inspection.  All written comments on this proposed action must be received on or before June 29, 2023.  Written comments may be mailed to the address below or emailed to [email protected].
