Water Use Survey
Our Commitment to You
As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship and safe, responsible coal ash management, we are working with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) to better understand the groundwater conditions surrounding the Bull Run Fossil Plant.
TDEC issued an order to TVA that establishes a transparent, comprehensive process to assess TVA’s coal ash disposal facilities in Tennessee and help guide future decisions about the sites.
One part of the process is to conduct a water use survey of private water supplies (such as wells and springs) that could be used for domestic purposes and meet the survey area criteria. This survey will be used to better understand groundwater conditions.
