TVA invites Public Input on Proposed Revision to the Tims Ford Reservoir Land Management Plan

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) proposes to revise the 2000 Tims Ford Reservoir Land Management Plan (RLMP) by reviewing all existing allocations of TVA land and determining if there are any changes in conditions or circumstances. Tims Ford Reservoir is in Franklin and Moore counties in Middle Tennessee. The land use allocation changes TVA is proposing would impact approximately 12% of the TVA-managed land on Tims Ford Reservoir.

The proposed RLMP revision would be consistent with the TVA Land Policy, Natural Resource Plan (NRP), and Comprehensive Valley-wide Land Plan (CVLP), and TVA’s goals for managing natural resources on public lands. RLMPs guide land use approvals, private water use facility permitting, and resource management decisions on TVA-managed public land.

TVA has drafted an Environmental Assessment (EA) addressing the environmental impacts of the proposed revision to the Tims Ford Reservoir Land Management Plan. TVA is interested in receiving comments on proposed land use allocation changes to parcels on Tims Ford Reservoir and on the proposal’s potential to affect the environment or historic properties.

TVA invites the public to visit tva.com/landplanreview for more information about the proposed land plan revision. Additionally, a live webinar will be held on July 15, 2025, at 5 p.m. CST. Registration is required to attend the webinar. A public open house will be held on July 22 at the Winchester Livery (122 North Jefferson Street, Winchester, Tennessee) between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. CST.

Comments may be submitted online, by mail, or email. Any comments received, including names and addresses, will become part of the administrative record, and will be available for public inspection.
